Courbé was created with the purpose of providing a new utility to PET plastics used in disposable products found on beaches. The need to extend the lifespan of these products was identified, as a significant amount of waste was being generated from single-use items that were not being reused. As a solution, a way to harness the high potential for reuse of this plastic was sought, transforming it into a unique and durable lighting fixture instead of becoming polluting trash.
This project involved conducting a market study and also launching a Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign in which we presented this lamp as a social movement. The lamp’s design was created by Selena, a fellow student @smansur.
