This project was carried out for the company GasN2, in which we developed a respirator for the ICU with recommendations from the technical team of the ICU at Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau, in which we completely redesigned the respirator.

Solving the problems raised by hospital doctors at Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau (designated world heritage by UNESCO), a compact design has been implemented while maintaining a large 13.3″ touchscreen, allowing visibility from long distances. In addition, all connections are located at the front for ease of use and the foldable handle and fixing clamp and integrated into the design to avoid interfering with medical personnel.

The pneumatic components are hermetically separated from the electronic components to prevent damage in case of malfunction of the pneumatic system. The inner layout -consisting of a central sliding plate to which the components are attatched- provides a quick and easy maintenance, with the aim of extending the life of the product and comitting to sustainability. With this, we not only take into account the user experience of doctors and patients but also that of the maintenance technicians.
